by
RS Social Welfare Foundation Taloda

Providing doorstep medical services to poor communities.

The District of Nandurbar, located in North Maharashtra, is characterized by a poverty rate of 72% among approximately 250,000 families. Consequently, the district has been facing frequent occurrences of malnutrition-related as well as Sickle cell relaated deaths. As Nandurbar is recognized as one of the poorest districts in India, individuals with limited financial resources or virtually no resources are confronted with significant health challenges.

Since 2017, RS Hospital Taloda and RS Social Welfare Foundation Taloda have been providing medical care to around 6000-8000 outpatients annually, especially for the poorer populations in Taloda, Nandurbar District, Maharashtra, through charitable outpatient services with a minimal fee.
Efforts are being made to help poor common people as well as tribal people fight against sickle cell anemia as well as other general diseases. Many tribal communities suffer from a range of illnesses, including malaria, tuberculosis, malnutrition, and diarrhea.

However, the COVID-19 pandemic has exposed the underlying problems in India's healthcare system, particularly in rural areas where people have limited access to essential medical facilities and equipment. Due to this, the need for specialized and affordable treatments has increased significantly, particularly for emergency services, making it essential to establish a charitable Hospital institution in Taloda.

In light of the increasing need for specialized and affordable medical care, a comprehensive analysis was conducted, revealing the critical necessity for a hospital that can provide emergency and comprehensive medical services in Taloda.
